Park trip: Allie and Mommy had a great time at the park today

Allie and Mommy had a great time at the park

Park a.k.a playground time is fun time. We love going to the playground.

Park time for Allie. This is an extra post for this week because I got some great pics today. I want to share our trip to the park and pics I took.

It has been so hot this summer that Allie and I have not been to the mark as much as we normally would have been. But, today we just had to get out in the sun and breeze and take a walk.

There are only few things at our park but she gets a kick out of every one of them. There are a few different slides but she won’t go down any of them by herself so I did not get and pictures.

First, she has to go on the swings and say wee-hee-heeeee. Not weeeeeee… cause thats wrong. But, wee-hee-heeeee!! She is such a cutie 🙂

Then. she does one of three things… the whale…

which I did not get any pictures of because the lighting isn’t very good at that corner of the park.

The horsey…

This is when she starts to say, “Mommy motorcycle”

park day for allie and mommy

I love this picture. This is where I said, “Come on Allie smile for mommy one more time” 🙂

And then, without fail every time, she wants to go back on the swings before we leave.

And now as I do sometimes. A little history about the first playground…

A playground is a place with a specific design to allow children to play there. It may be indoors but is typically outdoors. While a playground is usually designed for children, some playgrounds are designed for other age groups.

Modern playgrounds often have recreational equipment such as the seesawmerry-go-roundswingsetslide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, sandboxspring rider, trapeze, playhouses, and mazes. Many of which help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as providing recreation and enjoyment. Common in modern playgrounds are play structures that link many different pieces of equipment.

Playgrounds often also have facilities for playing informal games of adult sports, such as a baseball diamond, a skating arena, a basketball court, or a tether ball.

Public playground equipment refers to equipment intended for use in the play areas of parksschools, child care facilities, institutions, multiple family dwellings, restaurants, resorts, and recreational developments, and other areas of public use.

My baby girl tired herself out and she is now taking a much needed nap.

Look at this little sweetie pie

And, all that running around made mommy tired as well. On to a much needed shower!!!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Christmas is looming near… are you in the Christmas spirit yet?

Christmas is Looming Near

Are you in the Spirit Yet?

Christmas season is shortly upon us. Being as stores have had Halloween merchandise out on the shelves since the week after The Fourth of July. Thanksgiving is undoubtedly not far behind. Then the Christmas rush drops down and we scramble to get everything on that dreaded list.

Let us delve into the new and amazing gadgets, gizmos, toys and games that are hitting shelves this holiday season. If only to occupy our busy days with new and pretty things to distract us more from our ever changing and growing to-do list. Or ya know to make our loved ones happy or whatever the case may be for each of us.

Most of the things I will be searching for will be for my happy, bouncy, beautiful two year old daughter. Who, as much as the family room floor would like to differ, does not actually have every toy known to man woman or child.

Our favorite store to shop, especially during Christmas (a.k.a Black Friday)  is Target. They gave so many great deals. Then when you add Cartwheel (an app that I recommend highly) and the 5% savings with the RedCard, you make out like a bandit.

Second on our store list is (gasp!) Wal-Mart! Now, some people refuse to shop at Wal-Mart at all because they think it is to cheap and beneath them. But, if you do your research you can find a lot of great deals on some really good stuff. And, we don’t have the luxury to shop at the “nice” places/

And then, when we can’t find exactly what we are looking for we move on to our Amazon Prime account. Amazon is great for, well… pretty much anything. I bought a blog plannerand a bag of peach gummi candy in the same order. Progress.

So, without further ado… (whatever that means)… The list of Christmas presents… so far…

I always try to get one Big Christmas gift and a few small ones so it looks like a lot without breaking the bank.

Motivation and inspiration for every day life of everyone

Motivation and Inspiration for every day life:

Motivation and inspiration-

Ever since I was very young I have always taken comfort in quotes and sayings from others. My earliest memory of this is when my grandmother was speaking of growing older. I had never thought of the subject before then and was very curious. I asked her if she missed her younger days. Her answer to me was quite simple. She said, “Age is a matter of mind, If you don’t mind it doesn’t matter”. I’ve carried that with me and have used it several times in my life so far.

Years later as I recall, my mom was comforting me after a particularly upsetting day. I do not remember what was so upsetting at the time, but I’m sure it was horrible in my mind at that age. She said to me that day, and on so many other occasions when I was upset. “This to shall pass”, meaning, no matter how difficult it may seem at the time, the pain will go away and you will be happy again. She still uses that with our family to this day and I’m sure it is as comforting to the rest of them as it still is to me.

Today I want to share some more quotes and sayings that help me through some tough times. Being a stay at home mom is a lot of fun but it does get frustrating and difficult at times. These sayings and quotes help a lot and also just put a smile on my face.

Quotes and Sayings from some great people-

Ruth Gordon said:

“Courage is like a muscle, we strengthen it with use”

Virginia Woolf said:

“If you do not tell the truth about yourself, you cannot tell it about other people”

Rosalene Glickman Ph. D. said:

“Every situation is an opportunity to do your best”.

Fred Devito said:

motivation to CHANGE

“If id doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you”.

Wilma Rudolph said:

“The reward is not so great without the struggle”.

Wayne Dyer said:

“Be miserable or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, its always your choice”.

Zig Ziglar said:

“The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not in the job”.

Jim Rohn said:

“Either you run the day or the day runs you”.

Motivation through inspiration-

“It’s not about being perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, that is where transformation happens. That is how change occurs”.

-Jillian Michaels

As I said in the beginning quotes have been a big part of my life for so long. I hope these inspire and motivate you as much as they have for me.

What are some of the quotes or sayings that have helped you through your life? Are there any mantras that help you when you are going through tough times? Please share them with me in the comments.

Thank you for reading and I hope you come back again. Have a wonderful day!

My intro’s to my blog posts are seriously lacking in originality and fun. <—– (exhibit A)

Pinterest and my lack of pinning knowledge and/or ability…

I am trying so hard to get more into Pinterest so that I can get more traffic to my blog. I do love looking around and saving pins from other really great people I follow. My problem is, doing the work to pin relevant images and descriptions that will efficiently promote my posts. I have so much work to do in general to get myself on a social media schedule.

So, that being said; I would like to share some pinners that I have found and love their design and way of doing things along with their information.

I chose a few categories just to get a somewhat layered representation of different topics. But, these women have so much more going on than just one subject. Please do go check them out when you are finished reading here 🙂

I am listing 3 pinners in each category:

Anything Bookish

Now I have some homework for you, while I study these great pinners for inspiration. I would like to ask you a few questions.

How do you organize your pins?

What would be your biggest tip in regards to pinterest?

Do you have any helpful suggestions on Social Media platforms in general?

Thank you so much for reading and helping, it means so much to me!

Have an incredibly amazing day 🙂

Twitter has gotten me all atwitter: Mom-isms from Twitter

Twitter has gotten me all atwitter!

Today I want to explore some of the silliness on Twitter. Mostly from mom bloggers who have very interesting things to say about their children and life in general.

These ladies are super funny and also very talented in all aspects of blogging and life.

I highly recommend following them 🙂

Before we get into those, let’s have a little history of Twitter…

Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called “tweets”. Registered users can read and post tweets, but those who are unregistered can only read them. Users access Twitter through the website interface, SMS or mobile device app. Twitter Inc. is based in San Francisco and has more than 25 offices around the world.

The site was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone, and Noah Glass and launched in July 2006. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with more than 100 million users posting 340 million tweets a day in 2012. The service also handled 1.6 billion search queries per day. In 2013, it was one of the ten most-visited websites and has been described as “the SMS of the Internet”. As of March 2016, Twitter has more than 310 million monthly active users.

On with the tweeting…

I would like to start with a few that I have already re-tweeted in the past few days. Then I will move on to finding more to share.

Tweeting and motherhood:

Thank you for bearing with me through my silliness 🙂

I hope you are having a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend!!!

Shimmer and Shine: Nanananananana! Review

Shimmer and Shine: Nanananananana!

Today is going to be another (the last) installment of the children’s show reviews. This time I am going to review another one of Allie’s favorites. Shimmer and Shine!

Shimmer and Shine is a young children’s show about a young girl who luckily finds a genie bottle and gets these two super adorable twin genies-in-training who always seem to mess up her wishes. They ultimately figure it out by working together to solve the problems that her 3 wishes couldn’t help them to solve.

Shimmer– An optimistic genie with blue eyes and pink hair. She is enthusiastic and encouraging. She loves cleaning, glitter, and collecting genie bottles. Her favorite color is pink

Shine– A courageous genie with purple eyes and blue hair. She is an animal lover and is often hungry. Unlike her sister, she dislikes cleaning. Her favorite color is blue

Leah– A blonde girl with green eyes. She is best friends with Shimmer and Shine.[6] Although Shimmer and Shine usually mess up her wishes, Leah is patient and forgiving with them.

Zac– Leah’s neighbor and close friend. In the first season, he is oblivious to the fact that Leah has genies. Whenever something strange or unusual happens, he responds to it in a carefree manner. He also has a habit of telling humorous experiences he has had to Leah

Tala– Shimmer’s pet gibbon monkey. She has green eyes and wears white pearls like Shimmer does.

Nahal– Shine’s white Bengal tiger cub. She wears pink jewels and a gold circlet, like Shine does.

Rocket– Zac’s pet dog. His tendency to drool and chew on things often causes trouble. He has encountered Shimmer, Shine, Tala and Nahal at various times

Mr. Crab – A hermit crab who claimed Zac’s Dream Shell in “Ahoy, Genies!” and was referred to as Claude by Zac. He refused to give up his shell to Zac and even manages to beat Zac in a staring contest for ownership of it.

Kaz A genie in training who lives in Zahramay Falls who appears in Season 2 as Zac’s genie.

Princess Samira – he ruler of Zahramay Falls, who is in charge of checking up on all the genies in training. She can grant wishes along with the younger genies. She occasionally rewards genies with magic Genie Gems that produce a variety of magical effects depending on the type of gem.

Roya– Princess Samira’s pet peacock, who resides in her palace.

Zeta the Sorceress- A resident of Zahramay Falls who wishes to be the most powerful person in Zahramay Falls (more powerful than any genie) and is the series first antagonist. Unlike most of the residence of Zahramay Falls, Zeta is a Sorceress instead of a genie, as she has no desire to grant the wishes of others. Her plans are almost always thwarted by Shimmer, Shine, and Leah.

Nazboo– Zeta’s pet dragon, who caters to her every need and acts as Zeta’s underling. She is somewhat clumsy and often accidentally causes Zeta’s schemes to backfire. She can also get easily distracted by food and/or anything that piques her interest. She also enjoys getting occasional tummy rubs from Zeta.

The first season takes place in the human world and focuses on a young girl named Leah, who is friends with a pair of twin genies in training named Shimmer and Shine. Leah’s genies grant her three wishes every day, but they often mess up. Each episode features Leah working together with her genies to solve the problems they inadvertently cause, all while keeping Shimmer and Shine a secret from her next-door neighbor Zac.

In the second season, the characters are transported to Zahramay Falls, a magical land where Shimmer and Shine live. Leah reveals her genies’ existence to Zac, who is given a genie of his own named Kaz. Shimmer and Shine continue to grant Leah wishes in Zahramay Falls and befriend the sovereign of the land, Princess Samira. The season also includes Samira’s pet peacock, Roya; Zeta, a villainous sorceress; and Zeta’s dragon, Nazboo.

Doing this review was a lot of fun. I actually find myself getting lost in the silliness of these two lovable genie’s-in-training.

Until, next week I bid you farewell. Have a wonderful hump day! Enjoy your family 🙂

Hope I didn’t bore you to much.

This week’s question: If you had to pick one house chore to never do again, what would that chore be and why?

Thanks for reading!!!
