My Favorite Inspiring Internet things in October

I absolutely love social media (minus the negativity), there are so many people who build each other up and just talk about their daily lives in hopes to convey a sense of normalcy for people who feel as if they are alone in their struggles.

I can tell you from experience that no matter what you are going through as a mother or how alone you feel in a situation, you are not alone. We as mothers need to stick together and build each other up not tear each other down when we don’t agree with the decisions we make for our own families.

Here are the uplifting social media posts I have enjoyed in the month of October.

Strength grows in the moments you think you can’t go on but you keep going anyway. . Over the past couple of years we have walked through the fires of hell. . Injustice. Deceit. Betrayal. Character Assassination. . There were moments where I just wanted to give up. Run away. There is nothing worse than when someone accuses you of something that isn’t true. It was in these moments, I found out who I was and how strong I was created to be. . I knew that I had two choices. 1) To Get Bitter or 2) To Get Better. It’s that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you better or you allow it to tear you down. The choice belonged to me, not my circumstances. . You can feel like the flames of the fires are engulfing you and that there is no escape. I PROMISE you, truth always wins and justice always prevails. It may take longer than you would like, but those flames are refining you, they are not destroying you. They are a part of your story in becoming all you were created to be. . This week was a beautiful and life breathing week for our family. A close of one chapter and an exciting beginning of the next. It hasn’t been easy, but we made it and we are stronger for it. Believe when I say, when I look into a fire, I smile. The flames inside of me burn stronger than any fire around me. . Friends, there is going to be very painful moments in your life that will change your entire world in the matter of minutes. Let them make you stronger, kinder and smarter. But don’t you dare go and become someone you are not. . You are stronger than you know.

That’s Inappropriate (this is my favorite site right now!)  I am linking all of her socials because I think every mom needs her in their lives.

All of these that I’ve listed so far are very inspiring and help me to realize even on my worst days, that I am not alone.

I hope that this post has helped you in some way to motivate and inspire you to keep going no matter how hard it may seem at the time.

Here are a few quotes and pretty images for an extra boost 🙂

It has been proven that even just the action of smiling (when you don’t feel happy) can greatly improve your mood.

Take some time to live in the moment without rushing around trying to get everything done.

October went by in a hurry because we had so much to do. It can get so hectic and we forget to savor the moments we can never get back.

So, this November, be thankful that you are able to rush the kids all over the place but also take the time and be thankful that you can spend it with those you love.

Have a happy and healthy week!

You are not just a mom, You are so much more!

Yes, you are a Mother but you are also….

  • Sister
  • friend
  • daughter
  • wife/girlfriend
  • nurse
  • driver
  • chef
  • housekeeper
  • homemaker
  • decorator
  • shoulder to cry on
  • ear to vent to
  • advisor

and not necessarily in that order all the time.

You take on so much as a woman, not just a mom.

Mom funk affects the best of us on many occasions! It can be very daunting and tiring. Here is a little help for my fellow moms.

12 Ways to get your mom power back

  1. Exercise: even if it’s just for 10 minutes a day. Get yourself moving and grooving. Exercise is a great way to get in a better mood.
  2. Get away FROM the kids: go take an hour long hot bubble bath or go for a mani/Pedi and let daddy take care of the kids. You deserve it!
  3. Get away WITH the kids: Take a nice weekend where you and the kids can have a great time and relax.
  4. Stop, drop and read: Take some time to read a good book. It will get your brain working on things other than dishes and laundry.
  5. Write a letter to your child: Tell your child all the happiness they are bringing to you and all the smiles you cherish. Then in the future let them read the letter.
  6. Write a letter to your future self: Tell yourself about all the things you would like to achieve with your family.
  7. Go outside: even if it’s cold, bundle everyone up and go out for some fresh air and the sunshine.
  8. Make a 10 list: no matter what the topic, make a list of things you love or hate or a to-do list. It’s fun and therapeutic to put things on paper.
  9. Balance hip parenting with “keeping it real”: You don’t always have to be the “perfect soccer mom” You’re the best mom you can be.
  10. Be spontaneous: Do something crazy with the kids. Don’t worry about schedules and time.
  11. Tell your kids their birth story: at an age where you think they will understand/appreciate the love and amazing experience.
  12. Go through your pictures: make it a point to explain to your children the reasons that each photo holds a special place in your heart.

I’m not in the mood to mom today

I have the mom funk

My get up and go, got up and went!

It’s gone. I don’t remember when it left. All I know is it isn’t here anymore and I’m not sure when it will come back.

I have absolutely no desire to do anything productive today.

Here are a few reasons I feel this way:

  1. The laundry pile is almost as tall as my 3-year-old
  2. The sink has started to look like an abstract piece dedicated to Mt. Everest
  3. I refuse to pick up the toys in what used to be known as the “family room” because I don’t feel like starting that vicious circle again
  4. I’m still in my pajamas…
  5. because I am being lazy

But, I will tell you that when I’m feeling this way I always think of how I will feel when these chores are done.

Feeling accomplished and proud of yourself is one of the greatest feelings in the world. No matter what you need to do, it’s an incredible feeling.

Believe in yourself! Even if it’s just a few loads of laundry or a sink full of dishes. You can do it! No task is too big or too small.

If I don’t do laundry today, I’m gonna have to buy new clothes tomorrow

Everybody wants to save the Earth; nobody wants to help Mom do the dishes.”

mom funk

The biggest advice I can give to another mom to fight the mom funk is:

Get a good night sleep! Please, when the kids have gone to sleep for the night, forget everything else. It will all be there the next day. Take a half hour to sit and read a good book or just watch tv. Decompress from the day. Then, go to bed! I cannot stress this enough. You will be much more pleasant in the morning.

in a society where stay at home moms are referred to as lazy or taking the easy way out. Let me tell you something right now…

You are doing a great job to your child and your family! Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you are lazy or not providing for your child! You rock!!!

You are a wonderful mother doing a great job with your family.

Let me know in the comments what chores you absolutely do not like doing.

What is one thing as a mother that you wish could be easier to accomplish or take less time?

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Inspiration Reactions: How does it make you feel?

Inspiration Reactions: How does it make you feel?

I remember being in catholic high school, (well, it was only 13 years ago). So, First thing in Theology class our teacher would have a bible passage written on the board. We would have to copy it in our journal and then write at least four sentences on what it meant to us. Then, we would discuss our feelings and get to know each others thoughts. That was my favorite part of the day. Mostly, because I loved being able to express myself with others instead of being told what something was “supposed” to teach me. It was very relaxing and fun.

So, I would like to take that same idea and apply it to a few quotes. I will give my perspective and I would love if you could add your ideas on some of them. I think it will be a lot of fun and eye opening. Lets get to the inspiration!

.________________.

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all love of what you are doing”.

inspiration for life and blog

This quote speaks to me in different ways. It reminds me of what my mom always used to say, “Anything worth doing is worth doing well”. If you don’t love what you do, you will never put in the work needed to be successful. You will not care about the process or the end result because your isn’t in it totally. Love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life.

._____________________.

“Remind yourself that its okay not to be perfect”.

short-inspirational-quotes-16

I picked this one because I hate that word. PERFECT- definition: Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities or characteristics, as good as it is possible to be. WHAT?! Who decides this standard?!?!! This word should never be used for a person in any way! It was made to describe an object. Like, this pen writes perfectly. It has all the qualities a perfect pen needs. People are so different and remarkable that there is absolutely no ONE “perfect”example. I just don’t like it.

“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”.

20-Inspiring-Status-Quotes-for-your-next-Status-3-Inspiring-Quotes-Quotes-for-Status

This is a great one Keep your eye on your passion and don’t forget why you started. Strive to reach your goal every day. Don’t be afraid to take a risk to better yourself. You will look back and be so proud of yourself for doing what you never thought you could.

“View life s a continuous learning experience”.

inspiration for life

I know for a fact of course that I learn not just something but a lot of new things everyday. So many different aspects of life amaze me. My daughter is definitely my biggest teacher. She teaches me so many different things, like how to be humble. How to get back to the basics in life and just be happy with what you have right now. How to love so freely and with out condition. She is my everything.

._________________,

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”.

I chose this quote because it is my favorite from Dr. Wayne Dyer. He was such an inspirational speaker and all around great person. Change your thoughts change your life. (this is not sponsored but I love his books so much I want to add a link to my favorite. Excuses Begone) If something isn’t going your way change your perspective. Look at it in a different way and see the good in it. There is always a way to make your situation better.

._____________________.

And one more…. my Grandmother used to say this as she got older.

“Age is an issue of mind, If you don’t mind it doesn’t matter”.

49f569304d6044176ace5a2276272c9a

I always laughed because I never knew what she meant. Looking back now I recall that she never let her age get in the way. It was never an issue for her. She did whatever she wanted right up to the day she died. She has always been my inspiration. It has been 12 years and still everything she did and said resonates in my life. She was a beautiful, smart, loving, wonderful woman who taught me so much about life and what really matters.

So, that is enough inspiration for now. Hopefully you will be touched by one or more of these quotes and want to share your thoughts with me.

Thank you for reading. Hopefully, I didn’t bore you to much. Have a wonderful day!
