May birthday celebration and favorites for the month

MAY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

AND MY FAVORITES FOR THE MONTH

The month of May has been a fun-filled whirlwind of activity. Especially so for this past week.

Allie turned 3 on May 21 and we took a 2 night trip to Baltimore, Maryland for her birthday celebration.

The first night we just relaxed in the hotel room and had a nice, quiet dinner from a place called Dinosaur Barbecue.

We got a family meal of brisket, chicken, and spare ribs along with mac and cheese, collard greens (which I absolutely LOVE) and fries. Everything was so good! 10 out of 10 do recommend ๐Ÿ™‚

Then the next morning we had a nice little breakfast in the hotel before we left.

We walked from our hotel to the Baltimore Aquarium. Allie loved seeing all the little fish, especially the ones that looked like Nemo and Dory!

She liked the Turtle that was missing a flipper…

Also loved seeing the Dolphins (which are mommies favorite). She did not enjoy the sharks so much. But, we made up for that by getting her a plush Nemo at the gift shop. She carried it around for the rest of the day and most of the night ๐Ÿ™‚

Then, we went to a few of the stores at The Inner Harbor. One of which was Barnes and Noble where we got Allie a few books for her birthday and Mommy and Daddy got some much-needed coffee.

We walked back to the hotel to rest for a few hours before dinner. Allie was very tired from all the excitement, so she took a pretty long nap.

When she woke up we decided that we wanted to walk back to the Inner Harbor to go to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

It was a great day for all. Allie had a wonderful time.

The next morning we went to breakfast at the hotel again. Then we checked out and headed to the Maryland Zoo at Baltimore.

We had never been to this particular zoo. We were very excited to see all the animals here.

Mommy was especially excited to see the baby giraffe Willow and her mommy and daddy. I was not disappointed ๐Ÿ™‚

Willow on the left (she is so cute!) (Willow and her Aunts on the right)

These last two are Willow and her mommy Juma! So pretty ๐Ÿ™‚

We also saw a rhinosaurus who was more active than the one at the Philadelphia Zoo, which was very cool.

Mommy and Allie saw an elephant for the first time. Allie was not that into the elephant though.

We also saw an Arctic fox for the first time and he was so cute!

I highly recommend going to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.

They have some really wonderful animals. The habitats for these animals are not only great for viewing, but they also seem very happy living there.

The enclosures are large and look much like what I believe they would in the wild.

The animals are much more active because I believe that they are less anxious being in such a natural area. There is very little noise pollution from highways since the Zoo itself is so far back in the woods.

All in all, we had a great time in Baltimore as a little family. The trip was a huge success and Allie had a wonderful Birthday.

Perfection is a tool of the enemy designed to steal our joy. Kids don't want perfect moms. They don't want immaculate houses. They don't want gourmet meals. They want moms who make hard decisions for them. They want moms who stop to listen to them. They want moms who act fun and stupid. They want moms who love them unconditionally. They want moms who are present in their lives. Be that mom. #autism #autismmom #autismland #autismblog #momlife #momsoninstagram #lovebeingtheirmom #MothersDay2017 #momblog #momblogger #wahm #dancemoms #homeschoolingmama #hsbloggers #homeschool #momsoninstagram #momboss #momlife #mompreneur #dancemoms #autism #autismmom #autismblog #autismlife #autismland #dohardthings

There's a huge difference between a #specialneeds #child having hard time in public places than a normal child giving hard time to a parents. You can tell a normal .. to stop โœ‹.. if you get lucky they listen ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜’ .. when you have #nonverbal child ; it's not that easy..As parent We have seen both sides.. But when you have special needs child, it's harder on parents because anything can make a child uncomfortable.. breaks my heart when I hear people say.. " can you please get your child to stop crying or can you tell her/him to stop crying ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜’ .. really? I dare people.. go 24hrs without speaking.. see how it feels. nonverbal children's all over the world go through hard time try to communicate. Can you imagine being 3,5, 6 ,7.. years old child; when all the kids around them talking ,laughing , communicate.. But they can't. Please let us be humble and understandable help out when we see parents with special needs children's. I am proud mom of special needs child.. my son NEVER give me hard time.. #besupportive #bekind #momlife #motherhood #parenthood #parentinglife #autism #autismkids #kidswithautism #publicplace #proudmom #autismmommy #parentingquotes #quotes #crying #childrens #veganmom #mommy #momlife

Hello, my name is Kristen Osborne I am a happy mother of one beautiful little girl. Very into the internet and trying out new things.

Zoo of Philadelphia: A family trip to the Zoo

Zoo Trip:

Hello all! I hope you are all staying cool on this very hot day.

Today Mommy Daddy and Allie took a trip to the zoo. Might have been a bad idea with the heat. But, Allie had a good time. That is all I really care about anyway.

A little about The Philadelphia Zoo:

“The Philadelphia Zooโ€™s 42-acre garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. By connecting people with wildlife, the Philadelphia Zoo creates joyful discovery and inspires action for animals and habitats. Cheetahs, hippos, giraffes and much more make the Zoo Philadelphia’s leading family attraction with over 1.35 million visitors last year.

Like many other Philadelphia landmarks and institutions, the Philadelphia Zoo is an American first. The charter establishing the Zoological Society of Philadelphia was approved and signed on March 21, 1859. Due to the Civil War, however, it was another 15 years before America’s first zoo was ready to open.

It opened its gates on July 1, 1874. The Frank Furness Victorian gates and gatehouses, and the Zoo’s location, are the same today as they were on the day it opened. One of its assets, then and now, is John Penn’s home, The Solitude, which sat on the land chosen for the Zoo. John Penn was the grandson of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. The Solitude is considered to be Philadelphia’s most precise and elegant expression of neoclassical style.

On opening day, flags flew, and a brass band welcomed more than 3,000 visitors. Admission was 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children, a rate that held for the next half century. Visitors came on foot, on streetcars, by horse and carriage, and every 15 minutes by steamboat on the Schuylkill River, landing at the Zoo’s own wharf. The Girard Avenue Bridge opened three days later.

Since the early 1700s, the idea of an American zoo was inspired by English settlers with a keen interest in wildlife and by sailors and hunters who returned from faraway lands with exotic animals they’d never seen before. People would gather and pay shillings to see animals such as lions and elephants displayed at places like general stores and museums. As a hub of scientific inquiry and discovery over many years, Philadelphia’s well-known leaders of the time began to formulate the idea of a zoo. In the mid-1850’s, a prominent Philadelphia physician, Dr. William Camac-the Zoo’s founding father-became involved and led the way to making America’s first zoo a reality.

In its first year of operation, it had 813 animals and received well over 228,000 visitors. Today, the Zoo has more than 1,300 rare and endangered animals, and its attendance is approximately 1.35 million visitors a year.”

I got a lot of great pictures this time. Most of the other times we went to the zoo, we weren’t able to see a lot of the smaller animals. This time I got some good pictures of little furry guys I really wanted to see.

We have a membership and we all love the animals so we usually go about 2-3 times a month weather permitting. Animals are so beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

Here we go….
